You can search for a book in Alicat, the library catalog. Click on "Books, Videos, etc." You can then search by title, author, subject, call number, or ISBN. After you have located a specific book that you want, the catalog record for the book will indicate whether the book is available, and it will identify the book's call number. A call number is like an address for a book. You can find the location of the book within the library by using this interactive library floor map and referring to the "LC Call Number Guide."

If the book you want is checked out, then you can place a hold on it. You will receive an email from Access Services -- the main desk on the first floor -- when it is ready to be picked up.
